For our third episode celebrating the Women's Suffrage Centennial this month, Jennifer is speaking with Professor Evelynn Hammonds, Chair of the Department of the History of Science at Harvard. Early in her career as a graduate student in physics at MIT, Professor Hammonds discovered more urgent questions about the lack of women, particularly Women of Color, in scientific disciplines.

Sara is a historian of science, specializing in material culture and the history of astronomy. She's also an expert in the history of women in science.

For the first episode celebrating Women's Suffrage Month, Jennifer is speaking with Reed Gochberg, the Assistant Director of Studies, History and Literature at Harvard. Her work focuses on 19th-century American culture, the history of science and technology, and museum studies. She is guest curating an exhibit at the Harvard Museum of Natural History on the early history of women working at the Museum of Comparative Zoology in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

For the final installment of the HMSC Connects! Ocean Month, Jennifer is speaking with Dr. Albert Jose Jones. He is a marine biologist by trade, a retired professor of Marine Science at the University of the District of Columbia. But the common thread throughout his extraordinary life is scuba diving. This fall, he's giving a virtual talk for HMSC about his work with Diving With A Purpose, a group he helped form of Black scuba divers who locate and document sunken slave ships around the world.
